Palestine Currency Board, 500-mils Banknote
An engraving of Rachel’s Tomb, near Bethlehem, is reproduced on this British Mandate-era banknote. Although the terms of the Palestine Mandate required that the notes be printed in English, Arabic and Hebrew and that all three languages should refer to the territory as “Palestine”.
