an antique website telling the history of Palestine via old photographs and paper money

‘Modern maps and atlases do not show a territory called “Palestine”. Yet it is a word we can find in poetry and prose and on memorials to the dead of this country’s wars. What has the word Palestine meant to people in this country, and whose history does it represent? Above all, why has a place called Palestine mattered to outsiders?’ (MM)

The ‘Palestine-in-History’ website attempts to explore the history of Palestine through acquiring, researching, and understanding various antiques or artefacts, which were produced or used in Palestine during Ottoman Empire, and British Mandate periods (from the 1850s until 1940s).

It is an individual effort and passion for the love of Palestine to appreciate its history, culture and more.  Antiques or artefacts include old photographs taken by well-known photographers, paper money and coins circulated in Palestine, stamps minted in Palestine and embroidery items. The effort started in 2006 in terms of acquiring artefacts, and still going. This website covers reasonable amount of details with respect to already collected artefacts, and we are happy to share.
